India and sri lanka!

I think after 3 months and 2 beautifull countries it is time to write something on my blog. I didnt know that i would be so bad at starting to write this.

Soooo lets start with India!! So they say, love it or hate it.. Well i LOVED it!! I started out with a roadtrip of 4 weeks that ended in Goa where i stayed another 3 weeks for volunteerwork. The places we went to are: delhi, shimla, dharamshala, agra (taj mahal!!), udaipur, jaisalmer, mumbai and Goa. We did to much during this roadtrip to tell you guys everything here but ill tell a couple of the highlights. I loveeed shimla we did a two day trekking that was really hard but definately worth it! At the top of the mountain was a beautifull temple from where we could see the himalaya! The hard part was that there was (ofcourse) no road so we were just climbing the mountain without a path which was sometimes really hard! And it was also 3000 km high so that didnt make it easier:) after shimla we went to dharamshala which is the home of the dalai lama, it was really cool to be here and ofcourse saw a lot of temples here.

The Taj Mahal was really special, we were just staring at this big thing for a couple of hours, i really didnt expect it to be so beautifull!!

I loved jaisalmer to, this is a city in the dessert and we did a two day jeep and camel safari. We slept in the middle of the dessert in the open air, the stars were so amazing!!! I didnt want to close my eyes for 1 minute that night, this was slso because of the insects crawling all over (especially the really big beatles).

I dont really know what to say about mumbai and delhi, except that it was reallly crouded and hot! But really cool to that i have now seen it with my own eyes.

After mumbai we took a nightbus(we took a loooot of nightbusses) during the roadtrip) to Goa that ended up being a night to remember, just not in a good way, haha. When i went out of the bus in the middle of the night to go to the toilet i fell in between two rocks. Apparently i wasnt walking on the road, before i fell the busdriver even asked me; why are you walking there? But as you all now i am not always the smartest in some situations:) ended up with a big deep wound in my leg, a lot of bruises on my arm and a bruised rib. I had to sit in front of the lights in the bus to try and get my leg to stop bleeding. We all knew i had to go to the hospital, but because we were in the middle of nowhere (and in india) i had to wait untill we got to Goa. It took almost 6 hours to arrive at the hospital and finally got 6 stitches in my leg, a lot of shots and medicine. It took 2 weeks before i could walk normally again, but i didnt let any of this spoile the fun of Goaaaa!

I just loveeeed Goa! Made really cool friends there went to the beach a lot, a lot of partys, beeer, rented scooters and ofcourse the volunteerwork!! I did two different slumprojects where we were teaching them english, i also went to an older peoples home where we played monkey donkey and carrambord(indian games), the last two weeks i did the womans shelter, we danced a lot and they tried to teach me hindi bollywood moves hahaha, didnt really work out but it was fun trying!

Goa was really my paaaradise.

Sooo after 7 weeks of having the best time ever i really didnt want to leave this beautifull county called India! I felt really home in india, i loved the people, the food was delicious!, the tuctucs, even the bargaining at EVERYTHING that you were buying (actually got really good at this!), the partys, the new friends, the hindi language, the different religions, the bollywood music(loooved this!), and seeing a lot of monkeys, the mountains, the dessert, the palmtrees, the fresh fruit (especially the coconuts!), the colourfull saris, shops, markets.....

Than it was time to go to Sri Lanka, it took me about a week to settle myself and not be missing India all the time. We started off with a really cool group of volunteers! By now ive had to say goodbye to almost all of them and i miss them so much! The first project i did was a baby orphanage, the only thing we really had to do was cuddle with them, and give them as much love as you can, just imagine 15 newborn babied laying on the floor all wanting attention from you with their beautifull brown skin and big brown eyes, so yeaah i loved that week!! The week after that i started with a temple renovation project, we had to repaints parts of a temple, this was mostly just fun work, painting with some music on and talking with the cute little monks that were walking around! Than i went to a different house thats on the beach, ive been here for two weeks and did a turtle project, the turtles are soooo cute! We were able to let 30 baby turtles back in the see, it was a special experience!

Every weekend ive gone to different beaches. We always had to take long bus and train rides but the view was sooo amazing that it didnt matter! We went through mountains, jungles and beautifull beaches! We had a lot of craaaaazy beachpartys with amaaaazing people! And we have had so many beautifull sunrises, sunsets and snorkeling! This will be my last weekend in Sri Lanka so we will have to party extra hard:)! The last week i will be travelling for the first time on my own throw Sri Lanka, this is very exciting for me! After Sri Lanka ill leave for Thailand!

Namaste and ayu bowan!
